In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres yesterday (March 6) “the always pregnant” Jessica Simpson gave the details of her second pregnancy and things got a bit personal.
The glowing Fashion Star, who was also pregnant the last time she appeared on the show nearly a year ago, even hinted at the gender of her baby. Accidentally, of course.
Though Jessica told the host, “I haven’t said what it’s going to be yet,” she went home with a special gift from Ellen: customized baby onesie for her baby girl, Maxwell, that read “I love my baby brother.”
Jessica confirmed that she was having a boy later that night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when she had a slip of the tongue, giving the TMI response of, ”The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous!”
When Kimmel asked what she meant by that comment Jessica gave herself up saying, “Well, I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!”
Jessica has been sharing lots of details about her pregnancy, admitting that baby number two has been much more challenging.
She told Ellen “this pregnancy is the complete opposite,” noting that she had a lot more energy then. “This time around I’m exhausted,” she said. “Eating Tums, that’s my snack of choice.”
Because she got pregnant in the midst of her Weight Watchers campaign, Jessica said she’s making “healthier, wiser decisions” and is watching what she eats this time around.
“The first pregnancy I let loose and ate everything I wanted to eat,” she said. “Because I was doing Weight Watchers and felt super healthy, I’m not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off.”
Though her second pregnancy may have come as a surprise to her and fiancé Eric Johnson, Jessica told Ellen “we’re happy” but adds “we were definitely extremely shocked,” joking ”I don’t know, apparently protection was just thrown out the window.”
Jessica is gearing up for the second season of Fashion Star, which premieres Friday at 8 pm EST on NBC.
